WWE Announces Expansion of Saudi Partnership

On the heels of Crown Jewel and the conflicting stories that continue to emerge, WWE announced on Monday an expansion of their Saudi Arabia partnership (h/t WrestlingInc).

The deal between WWE and Saudi Arabia now calls for two large-scale events per year from now until 2027. Their original agreement was announced in March 2018 for one event per year, but WWE has already been holding two a year. The belief is that the announcement making two shows a year official was to show solidarity between WWE and Saudi Arabia coming out of the travel issues surrounding Crown Jewel.

Speaking of WWE & Saudi Arabia, due to the delays WWE SmackDown on Friday was called by a combination of Tom Phillips, Renee Young, Aiden English and Pat McAfee. McAfee shared an amazing story on how he got to SmackDown on short notice. It’s worth the watch:

Tomorrow – WWE Backstage Debuts!

WWE’s big FS1 show WWE Backstage with Renee Young & Booker T is set to debut Tuesday night at 11 pm. Their first confirmed guest is WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels.

The show is scheduled to have a big announcement, which was apparently meant to be Brock Lesnar defecting to Raw. With that already taking place on SmackDown on Friday, it will be interesting to see what WWE has up their sleeve.
