AEW Full Gear Results

The first pay-per-view of the AEW Dynamite era was on Saturday night. A full breakdown of the results:

  • Britt Baker def. Bea Priestley
  • Proud & Powerful def. The Young Bucks
  • Adam Page def. PAC
  • Shawn Spears def. Joey Janela
  • SCU (c) def. Lucha Bros & Private Party – AEW Tag Team Championship Match
  • Riho (c) def. Emi Sakura – AEW Women’s World Championship Match
  • Chris Jericho (c) def. Cody by stoppage when MJF threw in the towel – AEW World Championship Match
  • Jon Moxley def. Kenny Omega – Unsanctioned Lights Out Match

Biggest Full Gear Takeaways:

MJF’s heel turn was something we all knew was coming. Still, it was so perfectly executed that it was a thing of brilliance. Costing Cody the chance to ever wrestle for the AEW Championship before double-crossing him is a bad guy masterstroke. MJF will capitalize on this in a big way.

Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley are nuts. Moxley is going to be money for AEW in a way just slightly eclipsing the way WWE used him if they keep up this level of violence. Also, this shattered glass spot looked PAINFUL.

Awesome Kong’s debut after the Priestley-Baker match was very cool. A gimmick where she actually takes the hair of the women she’s beaten? That has some potential to be terrifying.

New Day Podcast Coming?

We may be able to get a Pod of Positivity sometime soon from New Day. According to WrestlingInc (h/t r/SquaredCircle) WWE has filed for “The New Day: Feel The Power” as a podcast trademark. Of all the talent WWE has, the trio of Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods & Big E might be the best trio to have their own podcast. They’re one of the best groups ever on the mic, and are even more fun on UpUpDownDown. Let’s hope we get this pod sooner rather than later.

One for the Road:

Moxley takes things pretty literally.
