The Wrestling Roundup is here to bring you all the news and rumors you need to know in one place.
**Editor’s Note: The holidays are upon us! This upcoming week will have Roundups on Monday & Friday, and take a three-day hiatus in between for Christmas. We’ll still be active on Twitter, so check there for the latest news.
WWE SmackDown Results
It’s the last SmackDown before the holidays! Of course there was some holiday-themed fun on the show, but what storyline developments were unwrapped? First, a dive into the in-ring results:
- Heavy Machinery def. The Revival in a Miracle on 34th Street Fight
- Carmella def. Sonya Deville
- New Day def. The Artists (Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro)
- Bayley def. Dana Brooke
- Lacey Evans & Sasha Banks go to a no-contest
- Daniel Bryan & The Miz def. Baron Corbin & Dolph Ziggler
WWE SmackDown Takeaways
The Miz and Daniel Bryan will never like each other. I love that WWE is willing to keep that thread in place, even as they have a common enemy. They managed to co-exist tonight to take out Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin after they were interrupted by them in the opening segment.
Miz, Corbin & Bryan are now in a triple threat match to become #1 Contender next week. Thanks, Corbin, for being in the match to take the pin. Bryan-Fiend continues to be the best option for the story, and should make for a great Royal Rumble title match.
Lacey Evans & Sasha Banks are on a collision course for the Rumble as well. Banks continues to be an exceptional heel, jawing at Lacey’s daughter in the front row. Evans getting a big win over Banks and then challenging Bayley could make for a great story.
Elias on consecutive weeks has made fun of Bayley for “looking like a man” and then made a trans joke about Caitlyn Jenner. “Face” Elias, and I use that lightly, is absolute garbage.

Soon after becoming a free agent, Killer Kross is already making waves. Kross will appear at MLW Fightland in Philadelphia on February 1st. It’s his first announced match after being released by Impact.

Kross is apparently getting lots of interest from WWE as well. According to WrestleVotes, he is getting an offer similar to the one WWE offered Adam Page last year.
WWE’s interest level is significantly high in signing Killer Kross. Source said he should get a similar offer to that of which was extended to Hangman Page last year. No telling if Kross will sign, but WWE is definitely pursuing him, harder than they normally pursue other FAs.
