The Wrestling Roundup is here to bring you all the news and rumors you need to know in one place.
WWE Sued by Stockholder Over XFL
A new lawsuit has been brought forward by an Oklahoma firefighters pension fund against the WWE (h/t WrestlingInc). The suit claims that “Vince McMahon and other WWE senior officers are not keeping up with their WWE duties as they focus resources towards the XFL.” It also states a desire to look at WWE’s internal financial records, as it fears WWE money is being put towards XFL endeavours. As stated by WrestlingInc, McMahon sold $370 million worth of WWE stock to help fund Alpha Entertainment which oversees the XFL. The XFL is slated to begin play in February.
Jericho Reveals Original Inner Circle Choices
On his Talk is Jericho podcast, Chris Jericho talked with fellow Inner Circle member Sammy Guevara about the group. During the discussion he mentioned coming up with who would be in the group. Full quote from CagesideSeats:
“One of the ideas was originally the Lucha Brothers. And I thought, well they’re too much superheroes. I want like killers and Santana & Ortiz perfect. Then I suggested MJF. It was like we should keep him on his own. And then your name was mentioned. Perfect. Sammy’s great. Now we need a big guy. Who’s it going to be? They wanted to use a, they just signed a boxer from the UK [Anthony Ogogo]. And I was like he’s not big enough. I said Hager’s the guy so we got him. So that’s kind of how the whole thing got together. It was very much each guy plays a role and has a certain part within the system of the circle.”
Latest From FPC on SportsCastr
It would have been interesting to see an Inner Circle of Jericho, Lucha Bros, Ogogo & MJF. That lineup doesn’t strike me as cohesive in the same way that the current crew does. Still interesting to learn about the process of deciding on the group.
