The Wrestling Roundup is here to bring you all the news and rumors you need to know in one place.

AEW Dynamite Results

The first Dynamite of the new year was a smashing success. Action was non-stop for the whole two hours and it moved a lot of interesting stories forward. First, the results:

  • Cody Rhodes def. Darby Allin
  • Riho (c) def. Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida, and Nyla Rose to retain the AEW Women’s Championship
  • Jon Moxley def. Trent
  • Sammy Guevera def. Dustin Rhodes
  • The Elite (Young Bucks & Kenny Omega) def. PAC & Lucha Bros.

Dynamite Takeaways:

The show had a lot of great action, but storyline wise was driven by two offers. First, Chris Jericho continued to sweeten the deal for Jon Moxley to join the Inner Circle. It included a 49% share and a brand new car. Moxley said he respects Jericho as a mentor, and will give him his answer next week.

The second offer is MJF’s stipulations for his match with Cody. They include not touching MJF before the match at Revolution, Cody having a cage match with Wardlow, and MJW whipping Cody ten times. Cody will respond next week on Dynamite as well. Seeing as he so badly wants to get his hands on MJF, all signs point to a yes from Rhodes.

NXT Year End Awards & Dusty Rhodes Classic Participants Announced:

This week’s NXT was not an in-ring show, but instead gave out year end awards. It also set up the Dusty Rhodes Classic Tag Team Tournament. First off, the awards as voted on by NXT fans:

One for the Road:

The problems with WWE 2K20 continue. According to multiple reports (h/t Fightful), WWE 2K20 did not work on systems in the new year because of a glitch that didn’t allow it to be played in the year 2020. What a game.
