The Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to a four-year deal with small forward Alfonzo McKinnie that is worth just over $7 million.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have seen enough from Alfonzo McKinnie that they can stop playing the 10-day contract game for the foreseeable future. McKinnie has agreed to a four-year deal worth $7.2 million per The Athletic’s Kelsey Russo.

This is not a lot of money spread over the four year period of the deal. Signing McKinnie will not have a financial impact on any future decisions for the Cavaliers. This is a low dollar figure overall and is very much inexpensive for a team in a transitional period. This signing could go a long way in regards to building chemistry and provide the locker room with some stability.

Alfonzo McKinnie came to Cleveland after spending one-year stints in Toronto and Golden State. McKinnie was not a key player for either team but has seen an increased role with the Cavs.

Alfonzo McKinnie has appeared in 35 games this season with Cleveland, averaging 4.2 points and 2.9 rebounds in 14.3 minutes per game. McKinnie is not a star, but he doesn’t have to be. That role belongs to players such as Kevin Love and Andre Drummond. McKinnie just needs to be steady and nothing more in his limited time on the court.
