WWE Raw Takeaways

The rumored Becky Lynch-Shayna Baszler Wrestlemania match appears to be on. After defending her title against Asuka, Lynch was brutally assaulted by Baszler. How brutal you ask? She bit Lynch so hard that it drew blood.

Lynch would refuse medical attention and steal the ambulance, a move that always makes anti-heroes look badass. Her promo once she returned where Lynch promised to break down Baszler “piece by piece, little by little” was excellent. These two will have a fantastic Wrestlemania story to tell.

Drew McIntyre continues to be presented in exciting ways on his road to facing Brock Lesnar. MVP hosted McIntyre in the VIP Lounge, and essentially offered to be his Paul Heyman. McIntyre said he doesn’t need that, and Claymored MVP’s face off. Drew looks like a star on his way to the top, and WWE needs to continue presenting him as someone who can topple Lesnar.

I will say it each week – unhinged Randy Orton is the best Orton. This week he still didn’t explain his actions in injuring Edge, even when Matt Hardy came out to ask for an explanation. Hardy was excellent in this segment, explaining that once upon a time he would have done the same thing to Edge. Orton never did explain himself, instead hitting a Con-Chair-To to Hardy, stealing one of Edge’s moves. The more WWE milks Orton’s reasoning, the more impact it should have when it’s revealed.

Wrestlemania Goes Hollywood

Hollywood loves a good sequel, so WWE has announced it is going back to Los Angeles for Wrestlemania 37. WWE made the announcement official on Monday morning, announcing that the show will take place at SoFi Stadium on March 28, 2021.

With the return to a Hollywood theme, lots of fans on Twitter are remembering Wrestlemania 21’s promotional videos. WWE stars spoofed many famous movie scenes in the commercials. Let’s hope WWE brings these back for Wrestlemania 37.

The Rock’s Daughter Signs With WWE

WWE is hoping that Simone Johnson is a chip off the old Rock. It was announced on Monday that Johnson, daughter of The Rock, had begun training at the WWE Performance Center. Johnson was interviewed about her joining the PC, and that will air Wednesday at 3 pm. If she has even a quarter of the charisma that her dad possesses, then Johnson will be a great asset to NXT & WWE.

One for the Road:

A dose of good news/bad news. Good news – A.J. Styles will be back in time for Super ShowDown. Bad news – he’s a part of whatever this match is.
