The Wrestling Roundup is here to bring you all the news and rumors you need to know in one place.

NXT TakeOver Portland Results

Sunday night had the last TakeOver before Wrestlemania weekend and it was a doozy. Six matches instead of the usual five were on the card, and there was drama abound. Also, the match quality was top notch. Check out the results below:

  • Keith Lee (c) def. Dominik Dijakovic to retain the NXT North American Championship
  • Dakota Kai def. Tegan Nox in a street fight
  • Finn Balor def. Johnny Gargano
  • Rhea Ripley (c) def. Bianca Belair to retain the NXT Women’s Championship
  • Pete Dunne & Matt Riddle def. Undisputed Era (c) to win the NXT Tag Team Championships
  • Adam Cole (c) def. Tommaso Ciampa to retain the NXT Championship

NXT TakeOver Reactions

Why, Johnny, why? After losing to Finn Balor earlier in the night, Johnny Gargano made an appearance at the closing of Tommaso Ciampa & Adam Cole’s epic main event. Undisputed Era had been involved to help Cole, so it looked like Gargano was there to even the odds. That was not the case.

Johnny Wrestling apparently doesn’t forget. It seems that Gargano has turned to the bad side, and now he and Ciampa seem to have a date for Wrestlemania weekend once again.

It will be Charlotte Flair versus Rhea Ripley at Wrestlemania 36. After Ripley beat Bianca Belair cleanly to retain the NXT Women’s Championship, Charlotte appeared and took out the champ. Charlotte accepted Ripley’s challenge for Wrestlemania, and these two will have an excellent match. With how good she has been recently, many were hoping that Belair would be added to the Wrestlemania match. There is still time, but as of now it doesn’t look to be the case.

We had a debut on the show as well. Tegan Nox was set to destroy Dakota Kai by putting her through a table in their street fight. As she reached the top rope, she was met by a debuting Raquel Gonzalez. She absolutely tossed Nox through(ish) the table and allowed Kai to get the win. An interesting addition to the roster, plus it extends the Kai-Nox feud even further.

The Broserweights are Tag Team Champions, and the comedy will continue. RIP to Kyle O’Reilly’s air guitar though.

NXT UK TakeOver Announced

We have another NXT UK TakeOver to look forward to, and it could have one of the best crowds ever for a TakeOver. The next TakeOver will be TakeOver: Dublin on April 26th, as announced during the NXT TakeOver: Portland broadcast.

Sasha Banks in The Mandalorian

The Boss is coming to Disney+. First reported by Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast, Sasha Banks has filmed scenes for the second season of The Mandalorian (h/t Fightful). It’s been confirmed by other sources, and now we may get to see The Boss hang out with The Child. This is the way.

One for the Road:

Didn’t mention it up top, but it is worth noting: Keith Lee & Dominik Dijakovic are ridiculously talented.
