According to Mercury News out of Silicon Valley, CA, following the first Coronavirus death, Santa Clara County has banned all gatherings of 1,000 people or more. Santa Clara County is home to the San Jose Sharks. It certainly isn’t ideal but for the Sharks, they only have five home games left this season and only three in the next twenty-one days.
It would appear that the Sharks will be the first team to play in front of an empty arena as the threat of the Coronavirus grows by the hour. Full Press NHL will have more details as they become available.
