A lot will be changing for the Los Angeles Rams entering the 2020 season. Dante Fowler Jr and Todd Gurley are both in Atlanta, and Zuerlein is in Dallas. In addition to the free agency turnover, SoFi Stadium will finally be ready to host the Rams and the Chargers.
However, there’s another very important change coming to the Los Angeles Rams. New logos, uniforms, and colors.
The announcement came on March 23, and finally ended the confusing uniform history since the Rams returned to Los Angeles in 2016.
The new colors are Rams Royal and Sol (royal blue and yellow). The colors are meant to blend history with modern vibrancy. While the colors are similar, the main crest is completely new to the franchise.
The new primary logo consists of the letters ‘LA’ with a ram’s horn curving around the ‘A’. The secondary logo is a new design on the classic ram head.
Initial reactions were not at all what the team was looking for. A 2020 NFL Draft hat with the LA logo was leaked and believed to be the logo but the Rams denied the claims.
While there were a few tweaks to that draft hat logo, it was relatively the same. Fans did not like the change and even Rams great Eric Dickerson voiced his displeasure.
Of course, no logo can be fully judged until there are uniforms to match the logo. That will be the true test if the Rams can rebound and get a positive reaction from fans.
An official date to reveal the uniform hasn’t been announced but it can be expected to be made soon with two teams unveiling their new uniforms this month.
