The Wrestling Roundup is here to bring you all the news and rumors you need to know in one place.
AEW Dynamite Results
The crowd-less AEW Dynamite was here on Wednesday to entertain the masses. AEW started their TNT Championship tournament with a first round match. Here are all the results for Wednesday’s Dynamite:
- Lance Archer def. Allan Angels
- Hikaru Shida def. Britt Baker
- Best Friends def. Michael Nakazawa & Kenny Omega, retaining the rights to the name Best Friends
- Brodie Lee def. Lee Johnson
- Cody Rhodes def. Shawn Spears in a first round TNT Championship Tournament match
One of the biggest developments on the night was Matt Hardy responding to Chris Jericho. Broken Matt has a challenge for Le Champion: an Elite Deletion match on the Hardy Compound. What this looks like remains to be seen, but we may be in store for more cinematic masterpieces.
#LeChampion @IAmJericho vs. DAMASCUS, the ESSENCE that is currently fueling #BROKEN @MATTHARDYBRAND in an Elite Deletion?

Brodie Lee continues to be an unhinged caricature of a certain former boss of his. This time his target was the attire of his minions:

Finally, Jon Moxley got a great hype promo for his AEW World Championship defense next week. He really sold the gravity of his match with Jake Hager, and now I am excited to see it.

NXT Results
This week NXT presented a unique version of TakeOver. On the card were matches that were meant to be at NXT TakeOver: Tampa this past Saturday before it was cancelled. That meant the card was stacked, opening with a six-woman ladder match and closing with an epic encounter between two heated rivals. Here are this week’s NXT results:
- Io Shirai def. Chelsea Green, Candice LeRae, Tegan Nox, Dakota Kai, & Mia Yim in a ladder match to become #1 Contender for the NXT Women’s Championship
- Indus Sher def. Ever Rise
- Johnny Gargano def. Tomasso Ciampa
The meat of this show was the final showdown between Gargano and Ciampa. They were given the full cinematic treatment, but were actually in and around the ring for most of their match. The exception was a spot on top of a trailer.

Before the match started, Gargano was handed something by wife Candice LeRae. Near the ending, LeRae would low blow Gargano and then Ciampa. It was revealed that LeRae had given Gargano a cup, protecting him and getting Ciampa’s guard down.

The newly heel LeRae celebrated with her husband on their way out of NXT. Watching them in a car appeared to be another wrestling couple: Killer Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux.

The opening ladder match was a great match as well. Io Shirai reigned victorious, and will get the first crack at new NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte. All six women put in a tremendous effort in a TakeOver-worthy affair.

Finally, Indus Sher had their debut match. These are Malcolm Bivens new clients, and their debut match was a dominant affair. Plus it gifted us with this gif of Bivens.
