The Wrestling Roundup is here to bring you all the news and rumors you need to know in one place.

WWE Releases Many Talents

Wednesday saw a massive cut of WWE talents by WWE management. Superstars, announcers, NXT talents, producers and more were cut or furloughed. It came as a huge surprise, as WWE only gave warning earlier in the day through a call from Vince McMahon to WWE employees. In that call he mentioned talent cut, furloughs, and a delay in construction of their new headquarters (h/t WrestlingInc).

The most up-to-date list of performers & producers cut include (h/t Cultaholic):

  • Lio Rush
  • Drake Maverick
  • Rusev
  • Rowan
  • Karl Anderson
  • Luke Gallows
  • No Way Jose
  • Eric Young
  • Sarah Logan
  • Mike & Maria Kanellis
  • Curt Hawkins
  • Zack Ryder
  • Heath Slater
  • Epico & Primo

AEW Dynamite Results

The latest episode of AEW Dynamite was on Wednesday night, and included the continuation of the TNT Championship tournament. It also featured a No Holds Barred Match for the AEW World Championship between Jon Moxley and Jake Hager. What else happened on the pre-taped Dynamite? Here are the full results:

  • Lance Archer def. Colt Cabana to advance to the semi-finals of the TNT Championship tournament.
  • Britt Baker def. Cassandra Golden
  • Sammy Guevara def. Suge D
  • Kip Sabian def. Chuck Taylor
  • Shawn Spears def. Justin Law
  • Jon Moxley (c) def. Jake Hager in a No Holds Barred match to retain the AEW World Championship

The Inner Circle has a new Brady Bunch style show, and it is the content we need in these times.

Jon Moxley is still your AEW World Champion after a hard fought battle against Jake Hager. He cut a pretty good on-the-fly promo after his win.

NXT Results

Even with the terrible day of WWE releases, there was NXT to produce on Wednesday. It was announced that Matt Riddle would need to find an interim partner to defend the NXT Tag Team Championships against Undisputed Era. What else would WWE have in store for their first live NXT in a while? Here are the results:

  • Finn Balor def. Fabian Aichner
  • Xia Li def. Aliyah
  • Akira Tozawa def. Isaiah “Swerve” Scott in an NXT Cruiserweight Championship Tournament Group B match
  • Tegan Nox def. Raquel Gonzalez
  • Dexter Lumis def. Tahuti Miles
  • Matt Riddle & Timothy Thatcher (c) def. Undisputed Era to retain the NXT Tag Team Championships

The debut of Timothy Thatcher was a welcome surprise in the main event. He was introduced by Pete Dunne, and appears to be a long-term fill-in for Dunne as travel restrictions are still in place.

On NXT, we got a debut vignette for El Hijo del Fantasma. The former King Cuerno will debut next week, and he has been the rumored leader of the gang that has been kidnapping wrestlers in the NXT parking lot.

Killer Kross made his presence felt on this episode, attacking Tommaso Ciampa to close the show. Ciampa was speaking about his rivalry with Johnny Gargano ending, and now it looks like Ciampa-Kross will be the next feud.
