After many months of speculation, the Atlanta Falcons have officially made their selection. Thomas Dimitroff and Dan Quinn were able to adjust to the current times and successfully made the pick. Despite the rumors, the Falcons chose to remain at the 16th pick and selected the cornerback from Clemson, AJ Terrell.
With the 16th pick in the #NFLDraft2020 the Atlanta Falcons select cornerback AJ Terrell, Clemson.
A shocker that early? @FPC_Falcons pic.twitter.com/HxZEH6A1rw

Terrell is a surprise because there has been very little mention of him in Atlanta. Terrell has actually flown under the radar because of his disappointing National Championship performance. He will be able to come in as a day one starter and contribute right away.
AJ Terrell has the size and athleticism that Dan Quinn looks for in his cornerbacks. Standing at 6’1″ 194 pounds, Terrell will be able to contest and contain bigger wide receivers.
This draft feels very similar to what 2016 was like, taking Keanu Neal earlier than expected. This isn’t anything new, Thomas Dimitroff got his guy and now Dan Quinn has his long rangy cornerback that can come in and be a day one starter. Love the pick, I just would have liked to see it later.
