Despite the rumors prior to the draft about the Falcons potentially trading up, they have now remained at their respected spots for all three rounds. The Alex Mack era is coming to an end in Atlanta and Temple Center, Matt Hennessy can fill that void.

All good things must come to an end, but that does not need to last long. It is essential to have a center who can come in and compete right away. In the past, the Falcons have experienced what it looks like to not have a competent center. Hennessy brings that to the table and more. He has shown consistent progression every year since becoming a starter at Temple.

Hennessy has the ability to get out and run and he has the athletic traits to pull with a guard when needed. This draft pick adds to the athletic specimens that the Falcons already have in front of Matt Ryan. Maybe this is a sign that the Falcons are on their way back to becoming a team with a dominant zone-blocking scheme.

Falcons are having an excellent draft.
