Terry McLaurin held a Zoom press conference today with local reporters. The wide receiver has been busy keeping in shape and finding ways to take himself to the next level in 2020.
The feet feed the wolves
When Terry was asked about how he was preparing for the upcoming season and his workouts with quarterback Dwayne Haskins, he always mentioned one thing. His feet. He is always working on his breaks and making sure that his feet are clean against every possible coverage that could be applied. This is also something that he mentioned noticing about fellow receiver Steven Sims, Jr. this offseason. His feet are cleaner this year and it is showing when they practice together.
Terry is looking forward to the challenge of being the number one receiver
Terry understands the responsibility that comes with being the best receiver on the team and approaching 2020 with that understanding. He is mentally preparing that he has to win every time he is on the field and putting in the film study of himself and his opponents.
Expect to see McLaurin playing different receiver positions
Terry stated that coach Turner has expressed that he can see him playing the ‘X’, but doesn’t want McLaurin to get bogged down in that and to work on other positions. Learning the offense is conceptually easy and the next step is to get out there and put the reps in and make him fully comfortable in the offense. McLaurin is excited to play wherever they put him whether it is as the ‘X’, ‘Z’, or slot.
