The Wrestling Roundup is here to bring you all the news and rumors you need to know in one place.

NXT Results

It was the NXT TakeOver: In Your House fallout show. How did the first NXT of Io Shirai’s title reign go? Would a new challenger step up to face Adam Cole and the Undisputed Era? Who would be next for Karrion Kross to run through? Here are the full results:

  • Johnny Gargano & Candice LeRae def. Keith Lee & Mia Yim
  • Indus Sher def. Mikey Delbray & Mike Reed
  • Finn Balor def. Cameron Grimes
  • Dakota Kai def. Kacy Catanzaro
  • Adam Cole def. Dexter Lumis

Kross has his sights set on Adam Cole. After Cole dispatched of Dexter Lumis, Scarlett made her entrance. She didn’t have to say a word, instead she just presented an hourglass. Once it was flipped, the meaning was clear: Kross is coming for the belt. It’s early in Kross’ tenure in NXT, but they clearly have big things in mind for him.

El Hijo del Fantasma is the man behind the recent NXT abductions. Formerly abducted stars Raul Mendoza & Joaqin Wilde emerged to stand by Fantasma’s side. The current NXT Cruiserweight Champion also unmasked and revealed his “true’ name: Santos Escobar. This gives NXT another stable and immediately makes Escobar more legitimate as a champion.

NXT has already had the mixed tag between Lee/Yim & Gargano/LeRae. I thought they’d hold off on it for another TakeOver, but this feud seems to be wrapping up quickly.

AEW Dynamite Results

The build to AEW Fyter Fest continued on Wednesday night. We had the in-ring debut of Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler, a.k.a. FTR on the show. Also Cody Rhodes’ TNT Championship open challenge continued against Marq Quen. What else went down? Here are the full results:

  • FTR def. Butcher & The Blade
  • Nyla Rose & Penelope Ford def. Hikaru Shida & Kris Statlander
  • Best Friends & Orange Cassidy def. Jake Hager, Ortiz & Santana
  • Sammy Guevara def. Colt Cabana
  • Cody Rhodes (c) def. Marq Quen to retain the AEW TNT Championship

FTR are back in the ring, and we should all be thankful. They did not miss a beat, dispatching Butcher & The Blade with relative ease. Afterwards most of the AEW tag division made their way out. The Young Bucks, Adam Page & Kenny Omega & FTR had a standoff at the end of it all. What a triple threat that would be for Fyter Fest.

Could Colt Cabana be joining the Dark Order? After a loss to Sammy Guevara, the Dark Order helped Cabana up to his feet. Later, he was seen going into Mr. Brodie Lee’s office. Would Boom Boom make a good recruit for the Dark Order?

Jon Moxley and Brian Cage are really building up their Fyter Fest battle. This week Moxley was being interviewed in a parking lot when Taz rolled up. Cage got Moxley from behind and tossed Moxley onto the back window of a car. These two are going to tear each other apart once they get their match.

In what was just a cool moment, Darby Allin skateboarded with Tony Hawk. He’s living our Tony Hawk Pro Skater dreams.

July NXT UK Tapings Cancelled

There will be an even longer delay until we get new NXT UK content. According to Fightful, Ticketmaster has announced that the July 24/25 tapings in Glasgow have been cancelled. No makeup dates have been announced, so it will be a while until we see more NXT UK matches.

One for the Road:

Impact Wrestling has been teasing lots of released names for their upcoming Slammiversary show. This last one has me most excited. He’s got kids, baybay!
