This is an important step in regard to renaming and rebranding the team. The fact that Terry Francona is supporting the idea of a new name should end any discussions about not changing the name.

Many names will be discussed as time moves on. From Guardians, Tribe, Spiders, and even a brief discussion about not changing anything at all. With the manager of the team backing the idea of a name, the idea of standing pat with a name that is offensive seems to have no chance of happening.
