The Wrestling Roundup is here to bring you all the news and rumors you need to know in one place.
This week NXT had the crowning of double champion Keith Lee. He’s finally made it to the top of the mountain, and now we get to bask in his glory. Io Shirai also got a test as champion, taking on Tegan Nox for the Women’s Championship. What else did the black and gold have for us on Wednesday? Here are the results:
- Damian Priest def. Cameron Grimes
- Indi Hartwell def. Shotzi Blackheart
- Keith Lee (c) def. Dominik Dijakovic to retain both the NXT & North American Championship
- Timothy Thatcher def. Denzel Dejournette
- Io Shirai (c) def. Tegan Nox to retain the NXT Women’s Championship
Shirai was successful in defending her belt, but didn’t get to celebrate for long. Dakota Kai has established herself as next in line for a title shot. An extended feud with Kai could be really interesting for Io, but I do feel for Tegan Nox. Her title shot feels like it came a little early. She’ll be back.

Lee defended both his belts against frenemy Dijakovic, and now both are targets for Karrion Kross. Scarlett came out after the match to taunt Lee, and Dijakovic was beaten up by Kross backstage. A triple threat could be in the future, or Dijakovic could be the underboss before Kross gets to step to Lee.

WWE Decision on Wrestlemania 37 Being Made In Coming Months
According to WrestleVotes on Twitter, the plan for WWE running Wrestlemania 37 in Los Angeles is being evaluated. As of now it is running as planned, but WWE wants to make a decision well enough in advance of the event. The company is hoping to have an announcement by mid-December about large indoor gatherings in California. Currently all indoor gatherings are banned by Governor Gavin Newsom due to California’s surge in COVID-19 cases.
