The NHL’s 32nd franchise, set to play in Seattle, WA, finally has a name. After months of speculation, the new franchise will be named the Seattle Kraken according to its official website.

Set to begin play during the 2021-22 season at the Climate Pledge Arena, the Kraken follow the Vegas Golden Knights as the latest expansion team to join the league. Seattle would love to follow the success of the Golden Knights as well, as they appeared in the Stanley Cup Final during their first season.
General Manager Ron Francis still has yet to hire a coach but should be coming soon. Likely after the upcoming NHL restart and before the 2020-21 season but the other biggest step in getting ready to play has been taken.
Get ready, Seattle.
It’s real. https://t.co/FHP7UB3E95
