The Wrestling Roundup is here to bring you all the news and rumors you need to know in one place.
WWE Raw Results
The road to Summerslam is upon us! This week’s Raw featured two big title matches. Asuka and Sasha Banks wrestled once again to determine the true Raw Women’s Champion. Also, Dolph Ziggler challenged Drew McIntyre once again for the WWE Championship. What else went down? We’ve got you covered with the full results right here:
- Andrade & Angel Garza def. Viking Raiders and Ricochet & Cedric Alexander to become #1 Contenders for the Raw Tag Team Championships
- Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler wrestle to a double count-out
- Bobby Lashley def. Mustafa Ali
- Sasha Banks def. Asuka by count-out to win the Raw Women’s Championship
- Buddy Murphy def. Humberto Carrillo
- Drew McIntyre (c) def. Dolph Ziggler in an Extreme Rules match to retain the WWE Championship
Dominick Mysterio was back on the show this week to confront Seth Rollins after Rollins removed Rey’s eye. He attacked Rollins and got the better of him and his goons. It really looks like Dominick may make his in-ring debut sooner rather than later, and it may be at Summerslam.

The finish to Asuka-Banks left lots to be desired. Bayley attacked Kairi Sane backstage and footage of it played on the tron. Asuka left the match to run to the back and save her friend. That led to a count-out victory for Banks, and it made Asuka look foolish for leaving the biggest prize in the company in the ring. Now Sane is on her way out of the company and Asuka doesn’t have the belt.
Nia Jax is back and I am sure that some of you rejoiced.
Summerslam Updates
WWE’s biggest show of the summer has started to take shape. After Raw, two matches have been confirmed. Those matches are:
- Drew McIntyre (c) vs Randy Orton – WWE Championship
- Street Profits (c) vs Angel Garza & Andrade – Raw Tag Team Championships
Summerslam was originally supposed to be held in Boston, but crowds have not made their way back to WWE programming due to the ongoing pandemic. So far WWE has had all of their pandemic shows in the WWE Performance Center. PWInsider is reporting that WWE is considering moving to an outdoor venue for the show (h/t WrestlingInc). Vince McMahon is considering some out there ideas, including hosting the show on a beach or a boat. Let’s hope we see Summerslam: Bash at the Beach edition this year.
Adam Cole & Pat McAfee Update
So late last week, Adam Cole was on Pat McAfee’s talk show. Things didn’t go so well, with Cole storming off using profanity after McAfee took one too many shots at Cole for his height and his NXT Championship reign.

Triple H even got involved. He appeared on McAfee’s show on Monday and offered a meeting for the two guys to settle their beef and told McAfee he still will work NXT events.

One for the Road:
Kairi Sane has said goodbye to WWE. She had a great run, and we wish her the best of luck wherever she goes next.
I was able to accomplish so much in the last three years, but it wasn’t because of my ability or my strength. It was because of all of the constant, warm support from the fans. I am so thankful I could meet you all.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Kairi Sane☺️⚓️ pic.twitter.com/BaH2UBi9wn— KAIRI SANE カイリ・セイン (@KairiSaneWWE) July 28, 2020
