The Wrestling Roundup is here to bring you all the news and rumors you need to know in one place.

WWE NXT Results

This week NXT continued to move us towards TakeOver: XXX. Those X’s stand for 30, by the way. Get your mind out of the gutter.

Last night’s action included a triple threat to earn a spot in the North American Title ladder match at TakeOver. It also featured Johnny Gargano versus Roderick Strong, and Mercedes Martinez in action. Here are the results:

  • Io Shirai & Tegan Nox def. Candice LeRae & Dakota Kai
  • Johnny Gargano def. Roderick Strong
  • Mercedes Martinez def. Shotzi Blackheart
  • Imperium def. Ever-Rise
  • Isaiah “Swerve” Scott def. Jake Atlas
  • Dexter Lumis def. Finn Balor & Timothy Thatcher to earn a spot in the North American Title ladder match at TakeOver

Keith Lee also called out Karrion Kross for attacking his friend Dominik Dijakovic last week. Lee is willing to give Kross an NXT Championship shot, but will Regal make it official? Seeing Lee with this level of intensity is always a treat, and Kross’s presentation has been damn near perfect so far.

As usual, Javier has recapped last night’s AEW Dynamite. Click here to read all about it.

Some miscellaneous wrestling injury notes from around the wrestling world:

Hiromu Takahashi is out with a left shoulder injury, according to NJPW (h/t PWInsider). He is expected back in time for his IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship defense against Taiji Ishimori at the end of the month.

Kris Statlander of AEW posted a tweet of her recovering from knee surgery.

And in kayfabe injury news, WWE put out a release that Rey Mysterio’s optic nerve is intact (h/t Fightful). You mean to tell me we got all that and nobody lost an eye? This is just like A Christmas Story all over again.

One for the Road:
