The one consistency within the Broncos 2020 training camp is that things are changing every day.
As Covid-19 health concerns continue to threaten the legitimacy of the NFL season, players across the board are opting not to play. Kyle Peko (DE) and Ja’Wuan James (RT) are the only two Broncos who have decided against participating thus far. Both players made their decisions on account of personal and family matters.

Due to the variability of the team’s roster, every starting position is essentially up in the air. The Bronco’s current 90-man roster averages fewer than three years of experience (2.78 to be exact). This group holds onto the hope of rebuilding with a young team.
A few key players stand out among the crowd. Novice quarterback Drew Lock has taken initiative amid the pandemic shutdown. Lock has been seen holding one on one practices with his receivers prior to the official start of training camp.
Props are also given to running back Phillip Lindsay. With the acquisition of veteran Melvin Gordon, Lindsay’s starting position is no longer safe. His performance in training camp has shown significantly more dedication to improvement than in the past. A little friendly competition will bring out the raw talent in both of these players.
On the defensive side, Von Miller is the center of attention. After a brief battle with Covid-19, the linebacker is ready to come back stronger than ever. Coach Vic Fangio noticed a new fire within him as they kept in touch throughout the offseason. Fans everywhere are eager to see what power plays he can create.
With all four of the Broncos 2020 preseason games cancelled, the team has another month to shape up for the regular season. The team’s focus will be on chemistry and creating a fluid and efficient offense. The veteran defense will certainly be crucial to chasing a winning record this season.
