The Wrestling Roundup is here to bring you all the news and rumors you need to know in one place.

WWE NXT Results

This week’s NXT continued to build toward their next TakeOver. After Wednesday’s show, we knew who would be challenging for the Women’s title and another contender for the North American Championship. We also had Keith Lee in action and Pat McAfee in the building to confront Adam Cole again. So much action! Here are the results:

  • Dakota Kai def. Rhea Ripley to earn a shot at NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai at NXT TakeOver: XXX
  • Bronson Reed def. Shane Thorne
  • Damian Priest def. Ridge Holland & Oney Lorcan, earning a spot in the NXT North American Championship Ladder Match at NXT TakeOver: XXX
  • Keith Lee def. Cameron Grimes
  • Tegan Nox def. Indi Hartwell
  • Imperium (c) def. Undisputed Era to retain the NXT Tag Team Championships

Pat McAfee and Adam Cole had a very measured conversation and worked out their differences. Just kidding. McAfee and Cole jawed at each other and that distracted the Undisputed Era and made them lose the match. The arguing continued, and then McAfee punted Cole in the face. How does this angle end? I don’t know, but I am intrigued.

As usual, Javier has you covered for your AEW Dynamite fix. Check the recap out here.

Police Investigating Marty Jannetty After He Admits To Murder on Facebook?

In an insane, unprompted post on Facebook, former wrestling star Marty Jannetty seemingly admitted to murdering a man as a teenager. The post by Jannetty (warning: homophobic language) talked about murdering a man who allegedly tried to sexually assault him (h/t WrestlingInc). Jannetty even mentioned the location where he “made the man disappear.”

Now, Jannetty is being investigated by local authorities. The Columbus, Georgia police told TMZ that they are looking into missing persons or cold cases from that timeframe. We will keep you updated on this as it develops.

Eric Young Signs Exclusively With Impact

While other stars who have recently come to Impact are still working elsewhere, Eric Young is going to call Tuesday nights home. Young told Gary Cassidy of Sportskeeda that he’s on an exclusive deal with Impact Wrestling (h/t Fightful). This isn’t really a surprise to see from Young, as he was a mainstay with the company from 2004 to 2016. Young was released from the WWE amidst their run of cuts in April.

One for the Road:

AEW Heels announced it’s newest addition – a membership tier. For $49 a year, female wrestling fans can get all of these benefits. It’s a shame AEW has a ton of female wrestling talent, but aren’t doing a good job of showcasing it on their main show. Instead, it ends up in this program and on YouTube.
