We are less then a week removed from Hurricane Laura making landfall directly over Lake Charles, LA. The devastation that has been left behind is leaving locals wondering what their next move is. Will they be able to rebuild the same as before? Is it worth staying there? Will anyone be able to help us during a time where a pandemic has tightened purse strings?
One person is starting to answer the call. Washington wide receiver Trey Quinn grew up in Lake Charles. He attended Barbe High School where he played baseball and ran track in addition to playing football.
Trey has a personal stake in the recovery of Lake Charles. That’s why he has started a GoFundMe page with a goal of raising $100,000. Part of a message from Trey on the web page states: “As one of the only NFL players originally from Lake Charles, my hope is that we can help to address the urgent needs and provide support to help survivors rebuild the city that I call my home. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.”
