The first week of KHL’s regular season has been played and the league has announced the best players.
The best goalie: Jakub Kovar who appeared in two games for Avtomobilist Jekaterinburg and winning both games. He turned away 63 shots on goal, saving 98.4% of opposing chances. In two games he allowed a single goal and his shutout streak now stands at 96 minutes and 2 seconds.

The best defenseman: Darren Dietz who helped his team earn 4 points in 2 games. Canadian born Kazakhstan national team player scored two goals, one of them was a game-winning goal. His +/- rating was positive +3 for the week.
The best forward: Magnus Pajaarvi. The 29-year-old and his team won two out of two games. The Swedish player recorded 4 points (2G2A) in those games and earned a positive rating of +3.
The best rookie: Dmitri Samorukov, the 21-year-old defenseman appeared in two games in which CSKA won both. The debutant scored the first goal of the 2020/2021 KHL season which also was the fastest goal in the league’s opening game history. He earned a positive rating of +2 and averaged 18:06 time on ice.
