“Football has become a symbol of our country’s best qualities-courage, stamina, and coordinated efficiency.” General Douglas MacArthur spoke those in 1959 and those words in 2020 still have the same impact as they did then. Football is coming back at an important time for the country and to America’s Team the 2020 season gives the opportunity for the Cowboys to advance in the playoffs.
For Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott, who has already withstood unnecessary criticism from a low rated cable host. The 2020 season is a chance to impress and take the next step in the NFL playoffs. Prescott has proven that his numbers on the field are terrific with a 40-24 career record. He has thrown 97 touchdown passes as compared to 36 interceptions. With plenty of weapons including Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, Ezekiel Elliott, and CeeDee Lamb at his disposal the potential exists for a record setting year for the Cowboys’ signal caller.

The 2020 season is a significant one in the respect that the Cowboys are turning 60 years old this season. Dallas last won the Super Bowl 25 years ago, so a King Kong sized monkey is on the back of Jerry Jones and company. The Cowboys have the talent on both sides of the ball to be playoff contenders and advancing in the playoffs is the next order of business.
2020 has been an extremely difficult year in so many ways. COVID-19 impacted the country and shut everything down. Entering August and September it became apparent we were going to have football. The game may look different, but it is still the game we all love. The year 2020 has knocked us all down but as Vince Lombardi said, “It’s not whether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get up.” We have started to get up and it is time to play football!
