After last week’s loss to the New Orleans Saints, the Buccaneers are looking for their first win this week. The Carolina Panthers come to Tampa for the Buccaneers home opener, which is defiantly an easier opponent than last week. The pressure is on Tampa, as they run the risk of starting 0-2.

Buccaneers Are Now On To Carolina
Brady could have a tough time Sunday against this Panthers defense. His two best wide receivers are injured. Chris Godwin has a concussion and will not play, and Mike Evans has a hamstring injury. So, expect to see Scotty Miller come up big this week against the Panthers. Miller has been compared to Brady’s old receivers like Julian Edelman and Wes Welker. Miller has built a great connection so far with Brady, which is huge for this offense. Between the Injuries, the fair offensive line, and Rob Gronkowski’s slow start, its good Brady has someone he can throw to.
Scotty Miller Could Have A Good Game Sunday
Miller spoke to the media this week about his connection with Brady. He’s worked hard to make sure Brady can trust him to run the right route and get open. Also, to be the guy to make plays when he needs too.
“It was nice to see it unfold on Sunday. I put in so much work this offseason and then we put in so much work together,” said Miller. “As far as me and Tom and all the skill guys together. I try to be exactly where he wants me to be at all times and I try to be on the same page as him. He’s such a smart player, such a high I.Q. player, that he knows where all the openings are going to be. If I can just be on the same page as him, I should be able to get some balls and get open.”
Last week, Miller made some plays to help move the ball downfield in the passing game. Brady loves throwing short passes, and it especially helps when Miller can get yards after the catch. In Sunday’s game against the Panthers, he has the chance to really stand out. Brady should be able to find holes in the defense and get Miller the ball.
He can use running backs Ronald Jones, and Leonard Fournette in the short-yardage and screen game. As for tight end Rob Gronkowski, he can block and make holes for the running backs so they can gain extra yardage. Maybe tight end O.J. Howard can make plays too, as he scored a touchdown last Sunday against the Saints.
At the end of the day, the Buccaneers need to be more disciplined. With discipline comes chemistry and then the wins will come easily. It starts with Carolina.
