When Dallas and Cleveland kick off on Sunday, the teams are both in interesting positions. Dallas is 1-2 but could easily be 0-3 going into week four. Meanwhile, the Cleveland Browns are 2-1 and have looked impressive getting to that record. We will look at some areas of concern facing the Cowboys going into week four.
The first area of concern for the Dallas Cowboys is the secondary. The Cowboys continue to give up big plays in the passing game. Seattle wide receiver Tyler Lockett made the Dallas secondary look silly, racking up over 100 yards receiving and three touchdowns. However, we have seen that the young players like Trevon Diggs will not give up on a play and tend to put out maximum effort. The Cowboys are going to continue to count on the defensive line putting pressure on the opposing quarterbacks.

Meanwhile, on the offensive side of the ball. The Cowboys have got to continue to reduce the number of turnovers. The Seahawks were able to benefit from the Cowboys turning the ball over and that is something Dallas will need to reduce. Between the interceptions and the special teams’ errors it has been tough for Dallas to operate while being ahead. Offensively the play calling has improved, and Dallas does not appear to be having the issues it did in the first two games regarding the predictability of the play calling.
As for the Cleveland Browns, the Dallas defense will need to key on stopping the running game. Running backs Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt have been a solid one-two punch for the Browns. Cleveland quarterback Baker Mayfield has no shortage for targets in Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr. Cowboys’ fans should look for the Browns to establish the run first and start to stretch the field with the talented wide receivers. The Cowboys should not take the Browns lightly and this match up is an important one for both teams this week.
