Barstool Sportsbook recently launched in Pennsylvania as Barstool Sports, becoming the first of its kind to submerse itself completely into the sports betting market. Partner Penn National is looking forward to the relationship, as reported by CEO Jay Snowden:
“As the only gaming operator with a fully integrated sports media and entertainment partner, our customers will have the opportunity to engage with Dave, Big Cat, and other Barstool fan favorites on our app […] Our customers will also have an opportunity to interact with Barstool personalities live at one of our many casinos‘ retail Barstool Sportsbooks in the coming months.”
This app is targeted toward the younger demographic and geared toward getting new people interested in sports betting. The idea is to tie in personalities and mobile features that will reference pop culture, sports, sports betting, and more. Barstool began as a small brand that focused on media and sports for several years, which helped accelerate their progress once Penn National bought a stake in the brand in January of 2020.
This is Barstool Sportsbook’s first state but it won’t be it’s last. The app is expected to launch sports betting in Colorado, and New Jersey.
