According to several reports, the Buccaneers will be without both wide receiver Chris Godwin and running back LeSean McCoy when they take on the Chicago Bears on Thursday Night Football. This will be the second consecutive game missed by both as Godwin after he was absent for the Bucs win over Denver in Week 4. In addition, wide receiver Justin Watson will also miss the game.
Let’s try this again: Bucs have ruled out WR Chris Godwin, WR Justin Watson and RB LeSean McCoy for Thursday’s game vs. Bears in Chicago. RB Leonard Fournette is doubtful, WRs Mike Evans and Scotty Miller are (now fixed) questionable.

Considering the short week and the fact that neither player has practiced to this point, it should come as no surprise. Godwin has been nursing a hamstring injury that knocked him out of the Panthers game. And, on top of McCoy being listed as OUT, the Bucs may be without Leonard Fournette for the second week in a row as he continues to nurse an ankle injury and has been listed as DOUBTFUL.

Obviously, if both running backs are unable to go, the Bucs will have to rely on Ronald Jones and rookie KeShawn Vaughn to pick up the slack. Vaugh saw his first game action last week and had just four yards rushing but added two receptions for 22 yards and a touchdown.
On top of missing Godwin and Watson, the Bucs also placed tight end O.J. Howard on injured reserve earlier this week, ending his year.
