Long stint on IR could be over for high ceiling talent running back Bryce Love
For second year running back Bryce Love, having a pandemic altering season could not have come at a worse time. Love, who is still rehabbing a serious knee injury, participated in training camp and looked good according to the coaching staff. Unfortunately, he didn’t progress enough and landed on IR after cutdown day with the hope to bring him back at some point this season.
Well, that time has come according to the Washington Post’s Nicki Jhabvala.
Washington RB Bryce Love, who has been on IR because of a knee injury, will return to practice today, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.
The team has 21 days to activate him or leave him on IR for the season.

As noted, Love will have 21 days to show that he will be game day ready, otherwise he will be on IR for the rest of 2020.
It will be interesting to see how the coaching staff uses Love if he is active and able to go. Running backs J.D. McKissic and rookie Antonio Gibson have been carrying the lion share of the workload. McKissic has seen the bulk of his snaps on third down while Gibson has only seen one snap on third down. One thing is for sure, there will be no shortage of ways for Scott Turner to use his running backs should Love see playing time.
