For the first time since September 27th, the New England Patriots have won a game. After being down by 10 points going into the fourth quarter, New England rallied off ten unanswered points to tie the game at 27 with two minutes left. The Patriots defense gave the offense the ball right back after a quick three in out by the Jets offense. With less than a minute left, Cam Newton engineered a game-winning drive. With two seconds left, Kicker Nick Folk kicked a 51 yarder right down the middle to win the game for New England, 30-27.
Know Your Enemy
Let’s get to know the Baltimore Ravens and what to expect come Sunday night :
Baltimore’s’ offense creates a lot of problems for opposing NFL defenses. Lamar Jackson is a dual-threat Quarterback that makes plays outside the pocket. The Ravens have a run-by-committee style of football offensively. Running backs, Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins have carried the load the past couple of weeks on the ground in the absence of Mark Ingram who has been nursing an ankle injury. Ingram could be back this week adding another challenge for a struggling Patriots defense. Wide receiver, Marquise Brown creates a lot of mismatches on the field with his speed. Similar to Tyreek Hill, Brown has the quickness to make a five-yard reception into a touchdown if you do not tackle him right away. Mark Andrews has quickly become a top tight end in football. So far this year, New England has done a great job of containing the tight end position from having huge numbers on the stat sheet. They will have to do it again against Andrews.
Defensively, the Ravens have a top ten group. The front seven of Baltimore causes pressure up the middle and on the edge. Derek Wolfe and Pernell McPhee are two names to expect in the backfield bothering Cam Newton on Sunday. The addition of defensive end Yannick Ngakoue creates even more problems in the run game. Ngakoue was traded to the Ravens from the Minnesota Vikings. Linebacker Matthew Judon has become one of the best players in the league. The backend of the Ravens defense is really where New England will have fits trying to figure out a game plan. Cornerback, Marcus Peters, and Jimmy Smith have a lock down mentality when they get on the field. All in all this will be a very tough match up for the Patriots.
