The Patriots are on the march and on the mend. With only 15 players on this week’s injury report, this is the overall healthiest the team has been in weeks.
WR Matthew Slater appeared on the injury report on Thursday with a knee injury. Slater is the keystone of the special teams unit and if he does not play, the Patriots may struggle to pin the Texans deep on punts and kickoffs.
No one can question the toughness of this team. Four players are playing with multiple injuries; DL Lawrence Guy (shoulder, elbow, and knee), RB Damien Harris (ankle, chest), TE Ryan Izzo (hamstring, hand), and DE Deatrich Wise (knee, hand). Running back, tight end, and defensive lineman are some of the most physically demanding positions on the field, with heavy impact on almost every play.
WR N’Keal Harry (shoulder)is back on the injury report after missing time with a concussion. His contributions to the team mostly come from blocking on the outside, so his injury may impact the outside running game.
