The Cleveland Browns are 9-3 after 12 games and that is sort of surprising. Everything that could be thought of and some things that nobody could even dream of has been thrown at them, yet they are still succeeding. From new offensive and defensive systems to operating through a pandemic, the Browns have been able to find a way to win. cleve
Kevin Stefanski has done a fantastic job of getting the best out of this roster. Putting together an offense based on the rushing attack featuring Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt was the obvious choice. By building the offense in this manner it takes the pressure off of Baker Mayfield to perform. The team can lean on the running game and allow Mayfield to manage the game. Mayfield will have games that he plays at a high level, (Sunday’s win over Tennessee is an example of that), but the team doesn’t need that on a weekly basis. It is about catering the offense to the skill set of the team and playing to their strengths while eliminating their weaknesses. Stefanski has done that repeatedly which has led to their 9-3 record.
Will Kevin Stefanski actually win Coach of the Year? Possibly. There are other contenders for the award including one in his own division. Mike Tomlin of the Steelers and Brian Flores of the Dolphins are definitely two candidates which could end up winning the award of Stefanski. The fact that the head coach of the Cleveland Browns is in this conversation shows that the team is finally heading in the right direction.
