After some uncertainty as to when and possibly IF the upcoming NHL season would happen, the NHL and NHLPA reached a tentative agreement last Friday on a 56-game season. The agreement still has to be voted on and confirmed but barring any unforeseen issues, the puck will drop on the 2020-21 NHL season on January 13th.
Here are some other key dates for the upcoming NHL Season:
Opt-Out Deadline (Non-Playoff Teams): December 24th
Opt-Out Deadline (Playoff Teams): December 27th
Training Camp Opens: January 1st
Season Starts: January 13th
Trade Deadline: April 12th
End of Regular Season: May 8th
Expansion Draft: July 21st
NHL Draft: July 23-24th
Free Agency: July 28th
