Heading into the final game of the regular season, the Buccaneers will be without two of their best defensive players as they take on the Falcons.
According to the team website, the Bucs have placed linebackers Devin White and Shaq Barrett on the reserve/COVID-19 list. In addition, defensive lineman Steve McClendon was also added to the list and all three will miss the finale.
According to Tom Pelissero, it was White who tested positive and Shaq Barrett who was a close contact. If accurate, White’s availability for the Bucs’ first playoff game could be in question with Barrett on track to return, assuming he continues to test negative. This comes on the heels of defensive coordinator Todd Bowles returning after his absence.

Of course, the Bucs are set to play their first playoff game in 13 years and whether it is on a Saturday or a Sunday could become a key storyline heading into the weekend. The Bucs have just two linebackers on the reserve list, Kevin Minter and Chapelle Russell.
