As the NFL heads into Wildcard weekend, the Associated Press released their All-Pro teams. San Francisco 49ers linebacker, Fred Warner, was named to the All-Pro first team. It is the first time Warner has been selected as an All-Pro and the first 49ers linebacker since the selection of Navorro Bowman following the 2015 season.

Warner is the ninth 49ers linebacker to be named a first-team All-Pro in the franchise’s history. The third-year linebacker out of BYU, Warner is the only 49ers player on the list this season, down from the three selections on last year’s Super Bowl team. For the season, Warner finished with 125 tackles in 2020, the second time he has gone over 120 tackles for the season. He finished with 118 tackles last season. Warner also received his first Pro Bowl selection this season.

Buckner Makes the List
Former San Francisco defensive tackle, DeForest Buckner, earned his first All-Pro selection. The 49ers traded the defensive tackle prior to last April’s draft to the Indianapolis Colts for the 13th overall selection. Buckner had played his first four seasons with the 49ers, earning a Pro Bowl selection in 2018. The 49ers replaced Buckner with rookie Javon Kinlaw out of South Carolina. The trade allowed the 49ers with the financial flexibility to extend other free agents. Buckner and the Colts take on the Buffalo Bills in the Wildcard round this weekend.
