The Main Event: A Circle Divided

How long will it be until somebody busts out of the Inner Circle? This week’s main event was a friendly competition between three of Inner Circle’s teams: Proud-N-Powerful, Sammy Guevara & Jake Hager, and MJF & Chris Jericho. Before the match began, MJF seemed to be planting seeds in the other teams that it was Jericho’s idea to have them fight each other.

When the match got underway, Sammy was the star. He got lots of opportunities to shine.

It looked like Sammy had the match well in hand, but Wardlow provided a distraction and allowed MJF to roll up Guevara. MJF even used a handful of tights. How will Sammy respond to MJF’s cheating, and is MJF just trying to destroy the Inner Circle from the inside? It looks like Guevara might be the babyface emerging from the group.

The Undercard:

Don Callis is trying to separate the Young Bucks from Kenny Omega. Right after the reforming of another version of The Bullet Club, Callis is paying the Bucks to stay away from Omega. They didn’t end up taking his money, and Callis played it off to Omega. What is Callis’ endgame here?

Adam Page has given his answer to The Dark Order. After winning their eight-man tag match, John Silver popped the question to Page. He said no, which was a surprise to The Dark Order since they had their “He Said Yes’ graphics ready to go. Page said he wanted to stay solo after having bad luck with groups, and can you blame him?

We’re going to get a Sting match in AEW. Team Taz seemingly challenged Darby Allin & Sting to a street fight for the future. Allin accepted, but does this mean that Sting is also going to get involved?

Poor Orange Cassidy. Now that Chuck Taylor is Miro’s young boy, he has to do everything he says. This week it was denouncing his friendship with Orange Cassidy and saying that Miro is his best friend. As the tweet says, it cuts deep.

Grade: B+

Lots of good storyline development on this week’s episode, especially with people’s intentions. How will the Inner Circle survive their inner turmoil? What is Don Callis’ play with Kenny Omega and trying to separate him from the Bucks? There was also some quality wrestling on the show, including the six-man tag and a good Jon Moxley squash match. A great show and a pretty fun birthday party. Plus we’re getting a new Women’s Championship Eliminator Tournament, so get excited!
