Starting March 15th, teams can begin entering contract negotiations with players who will be unrestricted free agents, such as James White.
On the eve of the NFL’s legal tampering period, there is a report that suggests James White might be headed for a reunion with Tom Brady. Of course, nothing can be made official until the NFL’s 2021 business year begins on Wednesday, March 17.
The three-time Super Bowl Champion running back, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent, has been linked to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers all offseason. ESPN NFL insiders Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano heightened those rumors Sunday morning with a new free agency report.
For many blatant reasons, White would be a great fit in Tampa Bay. For starters, he is a Florida native. Continuing his career in Tampa would allow him to be closer to his mother, who was seriously injured in the tragic September 2020 car crash that killed his father. Secondly, Brady would undoubtedly love to reunite with a player who was one of his favorite targets. And thirdly, let’s not forget that White was a top postseason performer while in New England. White would be a very valuable asset to that already loaded Buccaneers offense.
