Buccaneer fans have seen far too many games lost on the foot of a kicker in recent years and last season, they found their guy and they are not letting go.
According to Tom Pelissero, the Buccaneers and free agent Ryan Succop have agreed to a three-year, $12 million contract. A hefty price but one the Bucs are more than willing to pay to keep Succop in the fold.
Big money for Succop, who has been one of the NFL’s most accurate kickers.
So the defending Super Bowl champs are “going for two” … but they’ll keep the guy who kicks extra points anyway. https://t.co/2qY02c7Dlu

Succop hit 28-of-31 field goal attempts in the regular season and was nearly 92 percent on extra-point attempts. During the Bucs four-game Super Bowl run, Succop was a perfect 9-for-9 in field goal attempts. Succop’s first season in Tampa was his 12th in the league after stints with the Chiefs (2009-13) and the Titans (2014-19).

With the signing on the first “official” day of free agency, Succop becomes the fifth key free agent to re-sign with the team joining Lavonte David, Chris Godwin, Shaq Barrett, and Rob Gronkowski. An impressive offseason to say the least for the defending Super Bowl champions. Only Ndamukong Suh, Antonio Brown, and Leonard Fournette remain unsigned among key free agents.
