Two mocks down, one to go. And here go, on to the third and final installment of the Green Bay Packers Mock Draft series. The Pro Football Network Simulator was used in this go-round. Here are the results from 2021 Packers Mock Draft Part 3.
Round 1
The previous two mocks saw the Packers trade up and down respectfully. In this one, they stay at put at 29. Again some of the names linked to Green Bay have been drafted. However, there were multiple options available. Names such as WR Kadarius Toney and DL Levi Onwuzurike. Instead, the Packers went off the beaten path to add a player I think has the highest grade on the board and is the best at his position in the entire draft.
At pick 29 of the 2021 NFL draft, the Packers select Trevon Moehrig-Woodard, S from TCU. This pick might leave fans baffled considering the two solid starting safeties already on the roster. But in today’s NFL playing with three safeties on the field is becoming more and more commonplace. This pick gives the Packers a special unit on the back end with Adrian Amos being one of the highest graded safeties in 2020 alongside Darnell Savage who really showed his game-changing abilities in the second half of the season. Adding another high upside guy gives the Pack tons of options and different play designs.
Round 2
After the dust from day 1 settles, Green Bay sees an offensive weapon still on the board at 62 overall. Purdue WR Rondale Moore is the pick to add a big-play threat. Moore has his red flags with his injury history and small size, but there is no hiding his field tilting talent. Don’t let his stature fool you, Moore is tough and plays with an edge. Most importantly, he will be a mismatch problem. In all 3 of these mocks, I have added a slot-type playmaker to the roster. With the WR room in flux after the 2021 season, Green Bay will be eyeing this class of pass catchers.
Round 3
With the 92nd pick, BYU OT Brady Christensen gets the nod from the Pack. Christensen kept highly touted QB Zach Wilson safe and clean as his LT. After testing well this offseason, Christensen’s tape lines up with his really nice athletic ability. He brings instant swing tackle depth and can be a long-term fixture at RT. He is only going to get better and grow into a solid player.

Round 4
In the 4th round, the Packers go with two players that played football in the state of Florida and have Wilson for a last name. At 135th overall, Florida CB Marco Wilson is the guy. With a perfect RAS score of 10, Wilson is as athletically gifted as you will find. He has all the tools and experience playing slot and boundary in the tough SEC. He needs to clean up his overall game but the play-making and ability are there for a high upside corner.
FSU DT Marvin Wilson was drafted with pick #142. Wilson’s best football might be ahead of him. He came into college as the top DL recruit in the country. He never lived up to that bill but it was not because of effort. Wilson plays to the whistle and is a competitor. He has flashed some semblance of a ceiling, but he just needs to put it all together. A nice value selection on day 3.

Round 5
Green Bay stays on the defensive side of the ball and adds depth at EDGE with the 173rd pick. Chauncey Golston from Iowa is a hard-nosed blue-collar prospect that isn’t lacking explosion off the edge. Golston brings intensity and energy but can back it up with power and technique.
Another tough grinder-type guy that has the potential to be an OL starter in the future is Landon Young from UK. This farm boy made a living putting SEC defenders into the dirt. Young screams old-school Packer that will work his tail off to be successful. In this mock, he ends up going at the 178th spot.
Round 6
During the 6th round, Green Bay adds to both sides of the ball. USC CB Olaijah Griffin goes with pick #214. He can push for snaps in the slot with his quickness and change of direction skills. ISU RB Kene Nwangwu was the next choice at 220 overall. Nwangwu is an under-the-radar back with nice size and low mileage.
Round 7
To finish out the draft, the intense Grant Stuard is the 256th selection. Stuard played at Houston where he was a tackling machine and tone-setter. Whatever Stuard does, he doing it at full speed. The Packers hope to strike gold late at the ILB spot.
Summary
Though the 1st pick at safety might not be a fan pleaser, Moehrig’s upside could make this secondary one of the best in the league. The three-headed monster at safety will make all players interchangeable and give opposing OCs fits. The biggest takeaway from this mock is the Packers got top-end athletes. Most of these prospects tested well and their RAS is high. Green Bay added fast explosive players with upside. With some coaching and NFL work, many of these guys could become players.
