In their second signing on Friday, the Miami Dolphins have signed second-round pick, safety Jevon Holland, who was selected in the second-round of 2021 NFL Draft at No. 36 overall.
With Holland’s signing, Miami has now signed five of its seven draft picks from this year’s selections. Only fellow second-round selectee offensive lineman Liam Eichenberg and third-round selectee tight end Hunter Long remain unsigned.
Holland Earned Pac-12 Honors at Oregon
Holland played in 27 games over two seasons at the University of Oregon. He started 16 of those games with the Ducks, tallying 110 tackles (72 solos), nine interception and 19 passes defended in those games.
During his sophomore season at Oregon, that earned him First-team All-Pac 12 team honors, he totaled 66 tackles (40 solos), four interceptions and eight passes defended.
Holland sat out the 2020 college season because due to the COVID-19 pandemic, causing his draft stock to drop, according to most analysts.
Holland Joins Group of Talented Safeties, Compared to Bills’ Poyer
However, Holland will be joining the Dolphins secondary at safety amidst the pandemic alongside Eric Rowe, as well as a few others, such as Jamal Perry and Brandon Jones.

Furthermore, another positive note about Holland that many Dolphins fans should be happy about is the fact that the best NFL comparison that he has been compared to by analysts and draft scouts is current Buffalo Bills safety Jordan Poyer from the Buffalo Bills. Poyer has been a staple to a fast-growing Bills team, and secondary overall.
The Dolphins would be adding a Jordan Poyer-esque safety to a corps that is already loaded and considered one of the best growing units in the NFL.
