All the offseason drama is now over! At least for now. Aaron Rodgers Returns for one more year to the team that drafted him. The Green Bay Packers veterans reported to training camp on Tuesday, July 27th. The franchise quarterback was among the players to arrive at the Packers’ practice facility. Several reporters such as Eli Berkovits and Tom Pelissero have tweeted out videos of Rodgers walking in the practice facility parking lot.

Rodgers Returns
Rodgers returns months after speculation began that he wanted to leave the Packers. In spite of draft night rumors, no trade ever materialized. Furthermore, Rodgers had a chance to opt-out of the season without having to pay back any money. If he were to retire he would owe the Packers upward of $20 Millon over the next two years. With so much salary on the line, it is of little surprise that Rodgers reported to training camp.

Veterans arriving at camp came just one day after the Packers Annual Meeting of Shareholders. Hours after that meeting it was reported that Green Bay had reached an agreement with Rodgers.
The #Packers and QB Aaron Rodgers are in the final stages of a reworked deal to bring him back for the 2021 season, source said. It should be official soon. Rodgers had planned to arrive for camp thanks to a thawing over the past few days. Now, he will.

According to Ian Rapoport, the reworked contract will allow Rodgers full control of his football destination after the 2021 NFL season. This report provides belief that this will be Rodgers’ final season with the Packers. Considering that Green Bay selected Jordan Love during the 2020 NFL Draft, this may not have been far off from the plan. In fact, looking at his contract at the time of the draft, 2021 was a likely target as Rodgers’ final year in Green Bay.

Ep 100: Divisional Round Preview: Who Is Headed To Championship Sunday?
by Full Press Coverage on January 21, 2023 at 12:19 pm
In all likelihood, Rodgers will get to do his version of the Last Dance at least with the Packers. The goal for this season is unchanged. After two straight losses in the NFC Championship Game, Green Bay needs to make it back to the Super Bowl. Perhaps knowing that Rodgers may be gone after this year puts more pressure on the team. But I am certain that Matt LaFleur and his coaching staff have already placed immense pressure on the players to perform and get results. In fact, with all the offseason questions, I am positive that all Packers players feel relaxed with Rodgers at camp. Now they can just go out and play football.
Cobb Connection
On top of the Rodgers Returns and restructure rumors, one interesting piece of news came out. Originally reported by Trey Wingo, apparently, Rodgers wants Randall Cobb back as part of his own return.
Hearing Rodgers coming back to GB hinging on trading for former teammate Randall Cobb . If Cobb is in Green Bay it looks like Rodgers will be too
— trey wingo (@wingoz) July 26, 2021
This report was later retweeted by Packers beat reporter Tom Silverstein. Now, as mentioned, Rodgers did return to training camp. And so far, no trade has been made with the Houston Texans to acquire Cobb. His contract may complicate things. Cobb has a 2021 Cap Hit of over $10 Million. According to Spotrac, the Packers cap space estimation is only at $4.8 Million. Unless some salary cap magic can occur (which to be fair seems to happen every season with at least one team) it appears as though the cap hit is too big of a barrier.
