The Connections Lie
Just about any player that pads up today will hear sort variation of the lie told about having connections. Now, scores of many reputable coaches/teams/leagues exists. These entities have a vast experience and the legacies that show verified credentials. This article isn’t about them. This pertains to the shady. The Fees Lie
As a player/coach/owner, you have the right to ask and demand to know where your money goes. Receipts exist for a reason and those that invested ina product. Hemming, hawing and attempts to deflect a question, should raise the reddest of flag. If you are a player/coach/owner, do this quick math: take the number of teams, multiply the number of teams in your league. Then, take that number and subtract expenses. If they don’t add up without excessive league profit, you have a problem. Now, teams and leagues must recoup some of the money. Yet, for what some teams and players invest, their return on investment doesn’t add up.
Bottom Line
The Semipro universe is rather vast. Teams, players and leagues provide options. Yet, every statement made is not truthful. Eyes, ears, and mind must remain open to everything. If you find a trustworthy situation, embrace that. If you can’t, change your circumstance. Some in Semipro bought the dream. The NFL and those outside the bubble deflate those aspirations.
