The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have place cornerback Carlton Davis on injured reserved as he nurses a quad injury.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers secondary has taken yet another hit.

Cornerback Carlton Davis is headed to injured reserve with a quad injury. He will miss a minimum of three games and will be able to return following the Bucs date with the Bears on October 24th.

Earlier in the week, Bucs head coach Bruce Arians said that he didn’t expect Davis back anytime soon and now he will join fellow starting cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting on injured reserve. Of course, Murphy-Bunting has been there since week one following an elbow injury and another Bucs corner, Jamel Dean, was inactive for the team’s win over the New England Patriots.

The piling up of injuries, especially in the secondary, made it necessary for the Bucs to pursue and sign veteran Richard Sherman. Sherman ended up playing nearly every snap on defense with just three days to prepare after joining the team. More help may be necessary if another player goes down.

Coming up for the Bucs they take on Jacoby Brissett and Dolphins, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles, and Justin Fields and the Bears. Not necessarily a murderer’s row of quarterbacks over the next few weeks but nonetheless, the Bucs are still dangerously thin at the position.
