Brady, Bucs Set To Host Brissett And The Dolphins

The 3-1 Tampa Bay Buccaneers will take on the Miami Dolphins on Sunday after barely escaping with a win last week on Sunday Night Football against the Patriots 19-17. Now, Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady will set to face another former coach Brian Flores. Brady and the Bucs come in as 10-point favorites over the Dolphins who are 1-3 on the season and will be without starter, Tua Tagovaoila.

In his career, Tom Brady has played the Dolphins 35 times with a record of 23-12. He has thrown 67 touchdown passes and 27 interceptions in those matchups. Many of his struggles came in games played IN Miami. Fortunately for Brady and the Bucs, this game is in Tampa. However, they will be without tight end Rob Gronkowski for the second consecutive week.

The Bucs Running Backs Will See Some Action In The Passing Game

Expect Leonard Fournette to see some action in the passing game on Sunday. He has caught 15-of-17 passes directed to him so far this season which is nearly half of his 2020 regular-season total of 36. Brady will utilize Fournette and even Ronald Jones in the short passing game to gain yards, especially behind their stout offensive line. The Miami defense has given up 27.2 points per game so far this season. Brady should have a field day on Sunday throwing the ball and getting touchdowns.

The Bucs Defense Should Be Better Than Recent Weeks

Early on, the Buccaneer defense has dealt with multiple injuries, especially at cornerback. Sean Murphy-Bunting is on injured reserve, Jamal Dean missed the game against the Patriots with a knee injury, and Carlton Davis left the game Sunday with a quad injury and has been placed on injured reserve as well. The Bucs are left with newly-acquired Richard Sherman who played nearly every snap last week after being with the team for just three days. Former Colt, Pierre Desir has been recalled from the practice squad and will likely see a lot of action alongside Sherman. Fortunately for the Bucs, the Dolphins average just 15.5 points per game so far this season.

Like last week with the Patriots, having Brady helps in preparing for the Dolphins. He knows the team inside and out from playing them as often as he did in the AFC East.  I expect the Bucs to beat the Dolphins  28-10. The offense will bounce back and score touchdowns while the defensive line creates havoc for Brissett.
