The Anime Attack on Titan seems more than on the nose when talking about who the Miami Dolphins play this week.
In this playoff-hopeful matchup, Miami (8-7) travels to Tennessee (10-5) to take on the Titans. Both teams are looking ahead to achieve something in terms of the postseason in this matchup.
The Titans can clinch the AFC South with a win or an Indianapolis Colts loss, while the Dolphins need this win, that would make it their eighth in a row, to remain in the seventh and final playoff spot in the AFC. A loss would nearly eliminate them from playoff contention.
Additionally, if this were the first week of the NFL playoffs, these two teams would be facing off.
A Tennessee Win and They’re In, While Miami Has Tougher Road
For Tennessee it’s a little simpler. A win and they’re in, or a simple loss by the Colts against the Las Vegas Raiders will punch their ticket.
For the Dolphins it will require this week and the next for them to win to ensure they’re in. The silver-lining in two tough matchups is, if they do that, they control their own destiny and are in. The biggest things that help Miami in Week 17 include losses by the New England Patriots (against the Jacksonville Jaguars), a Colts loss (against the Raiders) and a Baltimore Ravens loss (against the Los Angeles Rams) would be the biggest things – along with a win.
Should Miami lose this matchup they would need the Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers to lose their games in addition to the mentioned teams above, as a lot of them hold an 8-7 record this is one of the tightest races in the NFL.
Dolphins Need Balanced Offense Sunday to Have Any Type of Shot
Miami will have a hard time against the Titans due to the nature of how tough Tennessee has been upfront and in the secondary.
The Dolphins also seem to kind of flip-flop on being stellar on defense one game and then stellar on offense in another, but not both at once. Miami will need to use a dual attack in order to win Sunday.
If the Dolphins can find some sort of a ground game and still use wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and other pieces of their passing game even somewhat effectively, Miami should be able to control the game by playing its style of football.
Additionally, Waddle is just five receptions away from tying, and six from passing, Anquan Boldin’s rookie record for most receptions in a single season. He currently sits at 96 on the season.
Dolphins Defense Needs to Adapt to Screen Plays, A.J. Brown
The biggest thing for the Dolphin defense is to attack the Titan ground game and keep an eye out for screen plays.

Ep 161: Lions Dissapoint; NFL MVP; Week 12 Discussion
by Full Press Coverage on November 27, 2023 at 12:12 am
The Titans are without running back Derrick Henry, so the rushing attack will drop a good bit. However, Tennessee got smash-mouth WR A.J. Brown back last week, and even though San Francisco knew he was the offense’s main focus, he still was targeted a career-high 18 times and had nearly 150 yards and a touchdown. So, the biggest key will be to neutralize Brown and to crowd the line of scrimmage.
Furthermore, if the Dolphins can get to quarterback Ryan Tannehill that would be even better. Eyes will be on rookie Jaelan Phillips and defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah.
This is Miami’s biggest test going into these last two week with a season. Miami will need a win in this game, or a sure fire loss from a few other teams, and a sure win against the Patriots next week to make it into the postseason. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. eastern Sunday.
