Kyler Murray Responds To Criticism

It has not been the best of offseasons for Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals.

The former first overall pick has reportedly grown frustrated with the team and was embarrassed by the playoff loss to the Los Angeles Rams, prompting a scrubbing of the Cardinals from his social media accounts. In addition, the report also claims that Murray is seen as “immature” and “self-centered” within the organization, a claim that has pushed Murray to respond via his social media accounts.

“I play this game for the love of it, my teammates, everyone who has helped me get to this position that believed in me & to win championships. All of this nonsense is not what I’m about, never has been, never will be. Anyone who has ever stepped between those lines with me knows how hard I go. Love me or hate me but I’m going to continue to grow and get better.”

Murray is entering the final year of his rookie contract and coming off his first postseason experience. Watching Joe Burrow and the Bengals reach the Super Bowl should breed optimism among the Cardinals organization, however, any super aspirations will be stunted with an unhappy franchise quarterback.

Perhaps, this is all a tactic to renegotiate the contract now or find a way out of Arizona. The former is more realistic and the latter is outright questionable on Murray’s part considering the talent that is surrounding him in Arizona.

This is shaping up to be one of the biggest stories of the offseason.
