WWE held its Elimination Chamber over the weekend in Saudi Arabia. The results of the event were expected as Roman Reigns beat Goldberg to retain the Universal Championship. While Brock Lesnar ran threw the Raw Roster on his way to regaining the WWE Championship. Thus setting up Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar in a Winner Take All match at Wrestlemania 38.
Everyone knew that Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns was being planned for Wrestlemania 38 long in advance. And the fans knew it was going to be title vs title for a while as well. I mean how could it not be when Brock was on Smackdown and Raw each week saying he wanted to fight Reigns with each of them having a title. Just look at the promo he cut the Monday after the Royal Rumble. He told Lashley he was fighting Reigns at Wrestlemania and he would have the WWE Championship.
There was no way WWE was going to change that plan after announcing to the world that was the plan from the start. And now WWE has back themselves into a corner with both belts headlining the second night of a two-day event. It makes sense since these two guys are the top stars in the company right now. Everything has been built and will continue to be built around Reigns and Lesnar at Wrestlemania in a Winner Take All match.
But with all that in mind, WWE has an opportunity with this Winner Take All Match to finally merge the titles into one. And it is the perfect time to do it because the challenges on both Raw and Smackdown are far and few between with the roster cuts over the past year and a half. There is no reason to have two champions. The Universal Title was a joke, to begin with when it was first announced. It feels more like the WCW International Championship, though WWE presents it as their major championship. And the WWE Championship feels like a lesser title now.

WWE has a chance to make the WWE Championship mean something again. We probably know the outcome of the Wrestlemania match with Reigns going over Lesnar. Though that could change. But it is the perfect time to give Reigns the run as WWE Champion. That way he can be on both shows and have different opponents. Instead of two or three guys challenging for the title. There are like 7-10 guys challenging the top guy for the belt. Like in the old days. The time is right for both.
It is the first time there is a Survivor Series style match at Wrestlemania with both titles on the line. And it makes sense to merge the titles. Each champion is running out of opponents and with the brand split pretty much over anyway, because wrestlers from each show just show on the other anyway, the time is right to make one dominant champion. And there is nothing wrong with that.
For years, WWE had one champion. That was until WCW was bought out. Then there were two major belts in WWE until they made the Undisputed Championship belt. However, when of course Lesnar decided he wanted to exclusively to Smackdown back in 2002, the World Heavyweight Title returned. For years, WWE had two champions, until they were merged once again. That was until the Universal Title was created. The two major champions have run their course.
Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns is the perfect opportunity to make one WWE Champion. Considering it is Winner Take All. Will they? Who knows. But the opportunity is right there and they should not miss it.
It is time for One Show One Champion as Eric Bischoff once said.

Aaron Rodgers, Packers Win Third Straight; Playoffs In Sightby Full Press Coverage on December 27, 2022 at 7:36 pm
I really hope that Lesnar wins this match. I’m getting really tired of the arrogant and overrated Reigns holding onto the championship title forever. Everyone knows that this guy wouldn’t win any matches at all if he didn’t cheat.
