Welcome to the Sunday edition of NFL Rumors on Full Press Coverage.
We are just 10 days from the start of the new league year and free agency and just eight away from the beginning of the “legal tampering” period as things begin to heat up.
One of the biggest stories of the offseason is the future of Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Coming off back-to-back MVPs, Rodgers has been reportedly “torn” with what he should do in 2022. Assuming retirement is off the table, the decision involves returning to the Packers or playing elsewhere.

Green Bay Packers – QB Aaron Rodgers
Rumor: Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will reportedly make a decision on his future by Tuesday, per Michael Silver.
The Aaron Rodgers drama may soon be coming to an end, according to Silver. If Rodgers is truly set on making his decision, we will know whether he will return to Green Bay or seek a fresh start elsewhere for, perhaps, his final season or two. According to reports, the teams that are likely to be the candidates to land the four-time MVP are the Broncos, Titans, and Steelers. The Broncos have long been mentioned as possible suitors. The Steelers have an obvious need with the retirement of Ben Roethlisberger and, despite having a decent situation under center with Ryan Tannehill, Rodgers would present a significant upgrade for a team many have expected to make a run to the Super Bowl.
Green Bay still represents the best situation for Rodgers. Not only in familiarity but ease of competition as well. Moving to either the AFC West (Broncos) or AFC North (Steelers) puts him in a division with one of the last two AFC Super Bowl representatives in the Bengals and Chiefs. In addition, you have teams such as the Ravens, Raiders, Chargers, and Browns littered across those divisions as well. The Titans would be the only team that would offer Rodgers a comparable division with teams like the Jaguars and Texans playing the role of the Lions and Bears.

Carolina Panthers – WR Robby Anderson
Rumor: The New England Patriots have shown interest in Panthers wide receiver Robby Anderson, per Greg Bedard.
The Patriots made a nice run to the playoffs in Mac Jones rookie season and, if the reports are true, are likely looking at adding to its receiver group this offseason in hopes Jones makes another leap in his season season. However, this could ultimately come at the expense of current Patriot, Nelson Agholor. Anderson spent the last two seasons with the Panthers after spending the first four seasons with the New York Jets. He had a career-year in 202, hauling in 95 passes for 1,096 yards but just three touchdowns. The Patriots reportedly pursued Anderson in free agency back in 2020 so the interest should come as any surprise. Whether a deal materializes or not remains to be seen.
If traded Robbie Anderson’s cap hits for his new team would be $13M in 2022 and $12M in 2023. 8M of his 2022 salary is fully guaranteed. Do not know his roster bonuses ($2.8M in 2022 and $3M in 2023) are due. Has a $200K offseason workout bonuses in each year. https://t.co/QFbxlX1ASi

New England Patriots – CB J.C. Jackson
Rumor: Cornerback J.C. Jackson is reportedly seeking “Jalen Ramsey money” as he is set to hit free agency, per Mike Giardi.
Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey signed a five-year, $100 million contract back in 2020 and to this day remains the highest paid corner in the league. An impressive feat as “highest paid” title at any position gets passed around more than the WWE 24/7 Hardcore Championship. In this case, Jackson COULD surpass that number and would likely deserve every penny. He has expressed interest in returning to New England, however, most believe that if that contract number is accurate, it will be far too rich for the Patriots who decided against placing the franchise tag on “Mr. INT”.
